Organic Golden Cherries

General description

From the remote region of Uzbekistan, Prana’s golden cherries are grown close to nature reserves and therefore, have never been in contact with pesticides. These wild cherries are harvested only when they are perfectly ripe and then they are slowly dried in the sun. The result – the purest fruit!

Origin

Cultivation of the cherry started with the Greeks but was perpetuated by the Romans. It wasn’t until 1629 that this sweet fruit was brought to the United States.

Nutritional benefits

Cherries are very rich in anthocyanins, vitamin A, E, C and minerals such as copper, iron and manganese. They help to maintain healthy eyes & skin and have also been known to stimulate intestinal function with their diuretic properties . Tart cherries have also been associated with reducing soreness after exercise. All of the fruits, tart cherries are the fruit that contain the most antioxidants.

Uses

This is a perfect snack for any time of day. The cherry is one of the fruit that is found at the lower end of the glycemic index. Cherries are very versatile fruits and can be incorporated into any meal or dessert.
