General Description
Cashews are the product of the cashew tree. This nut develops as the end of the pear-shaped “false fruit” of the cashew tree, sometimes referred to as the cashew apple, which is also edible. This is a walnut-shaped, white crescent nut that measures about 3 cm in length.
Origin
Discovered in Brazil by the Portuguese during the 16th century, the cashew tree was then transported to Africa, then to India before spreading to all over Asia. PRANA imports our cashews directly from the Ivory Coast. PRANA cashews are extracted by first softening the shell in a steam bath at a temperature of 100 ° C and then removing the nuts manually.
