General Description

High energy supplement, cashews are an excellent source of monounsaturated fatty acids and trace element such as potassium, magnesium and iron. High protein content, this exotic nut is a hypocholesteremic that helps lower the body’s fat and helps blood flow. Lightly laxative, our delicious non-roasted cashews helps regulate the digestive track.

Delicate, milky and extremely flavourful, this luxurious nut’s shell is processed by removing its outer layer by hand after previously having soaked the shell in a warm steam bath (100°C). Naturally sweet and crunchy, our fresh cashews are easily digestible and can be paired to sautés, tofu balls and especially delicious in our Vegan Citrus Cashew Cheesecake.

History

Discovered in Brazil by the Portuguese during the 16th century, the cashew tree was transported to Africa, and then to India before spreading all accross Asia.

    PRANA cashews are extracted by first softening the shell in a steam bath at a temperature of 100 ° C and then removing the nuts manually.

Culinary Uses

Cashews are delicious when eaten raw, roasted or seasoned. They can be cooked and paired with multiple recipes but cashews are particularly interesting in deserts!

Our cashews are superbly sea-salted in our Extaze mix, or dry roasted and covered in maple syrup with a touch of sea salt in our great Go Nuts snack mix.
