Organic Raw Walnuts
General Description
The walnut has a smooth green husk which splits open when the nuts are ripe enough for harvesting. The walnut has a light brown shell, formed into halves that holds two deeply ridged lobes of butterfly-shaped, light brown kernels, with a mild-flavored flesh. When mature, the outer shells harden and are easily cracked.
Origin
The walnut comes from the center of France and was not introduced to America until the 18th century.
