Organic Thompson Raisins
General Description
Dried raisins are grapes that have been dried and have become a brownish colour.
Origin
Thompson raisins are essentially the same variety of raisin as the Sultana, except Thompson raisins were given their name when they were introduced to California by William Thompson. Thompson seedless grapes are the American equivalent of the famous Mediterranean variety.
Nutritional Benefits
Raisins contain a really good variety of vitamins, minerals, dietary fibre and other positive nutrional qualities.
Uses
Dried raisins are a classic choice for something to snack on. They are delicious by themselves but they also fit really well into mixed nuts, seeds and dried fruit combinaisons. Raisins are one of the key ingredients in a long list of recipes for breads and baked goods. We would also recommend you give them a try in your salads or in your couscous.
