Origin
Around 6000 years ago, quinoa was domesticated in the Andes of South America along with the llamas because they existences are mutually dependent on each other. Despised and prohibited by the Spaniards, whose prefer wheat and barley, quinoa has persisted in some remote administrative centers of the modern American South.
